LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION

12-18 25
Abstract

In animal husbandry practice, hormonal substances are increasingly used to regulate the reproduction processes of farm animals. Reproduction biotechnology includes all activities carried out for the purpose of a systematic and controlled process of reproduction of economically useful animals. Such measures include, for example, the whole range of measures for artificial insemination, special hormonal treatment regimes, or a special change of light and darkness, which makes it possible to induce heat cycles in sheep even during the anestrous period. Directed regulation of the reproductive functions of animals is based on the ability of sex and gonadotropic hormones to cause early puberty, superovulation, stimulation and inhibition of estrus.

FEEDING FOR FARM ANIMALS

20-26 25
Abstract

Each type of feeding has its own characteristics due to the specific effect of feed on metabolism, physiological condition and animal productivity. So, the aim of the study was to study carbohydrate and nitrogen metabolism at various ratios of rough, concentrated and succulent feeds in the diet of young cattle during fattening. The intake of a large amount of easily digestible carbohydrates when the energy saturation of the diet is increased at the same time, increases the concentration of LFA in the rumen fluid, which points to an increase in the rate of fermentation of fiber fractions. Feeding a silage diet with an increased level of metabolic energy contributed to an increase in the total amount of VFA by 14.5% compared with the control group. The introduction of corn silage and concentrates in the diet in the experimental group contributed to a significant 12.9 mg% decrease in protein breakdown. The highest concentration of total amino acids in the rumen fluid was observed with a silage diet with a high level of concentrated feed, 514 mg%, which is 139 mg% higher than when feeding diets with low energy saturation. With this diet, the highest average daily gain in live weight (834-1042 g) was also observed. In hay rations, the concentration of total amino acids in the sample of rumen fluid was 408-505 mg% in both groups of animals. The average daily gains in these groups were 730-897 g.

Abstract

The study examined the effect of the feed additive “Nutamar” on nutrient digestibility and productivity of rabbits. Three groups (control, 3 and 5 g/kg of feed) were evaluated in a balance trial (45–77 days), growth performance (40–115 days), and slaughter parameters (120 days). The best results were obtained with the dose of 5 g/kg: digestibility of dry matter, crude protein and crude fat increased by 3.3–5.0% (p<0.01), average daily gain by 9% (p<0.001), carcass weight and dressing percentage by 11.4% and 5.1% (p<0.05). It was concluded that the dosage of 5 g/kg is preferable.

VETERINARY MEDICINE

Abstract

The paper discusses the problem of anemia in fur animals and the use of antianaemic agents. The experiment was carried out on 20 animals one year old, about 2 kg. The results showed that both in control and in experimental groups similar phenomena were observed: venous fullness of organs, plasma separation in vessels, increased permeability of vascular walls with formation of small hemorrhages, localized pulmonary emphysema, intraalveolar haemorrhaging and bronchitis. However, in the spleen of animals that received

BREEDING

42-48 23
Abstract

Two groups of Soviet meat-and-wool ewes were formed for the study, based on their age and live weight. The first group of ewes was crossed with purebred Soviet meatand-wool rams, while the second group was crossed with Corriedel mountain rams. The results showed that crossbred young animals had a live weight of 6.8 kg or 14.0% more than purebred animals at the age of 12 months, a shearing yield of 1.6 kg of unwashed wool, a shearing yield of 1.2 kg of washed wool, and a pure wool yield of 4.8% more than purebred animals. Crossbreeding Soviet meat-and-wool ewes with mountain Corriedel rams resulted in highly productive and viable offspring.
